Ember the Dragon

Name: Ember

Age/Species/Gender: 16. Dragon. Female.

Elements: Fire, Water, Ice

Personality: Quiet and caring. Very loyal. She is quite shy and always self conscious about the way others think of her. Always willing to help her friends. Is usually very patient but if pushed past her limits her anger can be VERY fierce. Tends to daydream when she has nothing to do.

Appearance: A black dragon with a silver chest and silver wings. She has four slender horns adorning her head and a line of fin-like spikes running down her spine and ending in a spade tip on the end of her tail. Her eyes are golden.

Backstory:
Ember was raised by wolves. She has very little memory of her real parents. What she does remember of her life before the pack was that she always played with another young dragon named Cedric. She made her own toy Cedric to keep her company when she first joined the pack. Her mother had given her the Starsapphire on the last day she saw her. It’s all she has to remember them by. Ember always knew that she herself was not a wolf but had no idea of her true heritage. She really wanted to fit in with the pack she lived with, but although they accepted her into their family, they still saw her as an outsider. Her only true friend was Lily, a young adventurous and mischievous white wolf pup who was equally out of place in their pack.
On the night before her 16th birthday, she had a dream of the last day she saw her mother and of a familiar voice calling out to her. When she woke that morning she was scared and confused. She was going to have an advancement ceremony today as the Lead Huntress if her final hunting test. She was to lead the hunting party for the first time and she didn’t want to distracted by her dream.
As she was out hunting with her pack, she felt a strange sensation in her throat as she was chasing the caribou and the same voice from her dream was calling her again. “Ember." She started to slow her pace to look around for the source of the voice as the others ran past her. The last to pass her was Boris, a red wolf and the alpha’s eldest son who enjoyed picking on her. He slowed briefly to match her pace. "Losing your touch, huh BerBer?" he jeered as he ran passed her. She HATED it when he called her that! She slowed to a stop as Boris raced ahead and brought down a caribou. He stood back, head held high, as everyone gathered around to eat. Ember was infuriated. She had failed her test.
As she just walking up to eat, Boris blocked her path, wagging his tail in her face. "I guess you’re not the best after all," he nagged. He smirked, "Maybe Dad will promote ME to be Lead Hunter instead." Ember held her breath to avoid losing control of her temper. When Boris moved aside he spotted Lily trying to eat his favorite section. He pushed her aside and stepped on her tail, making her yelp in pain. This was the last straw. Before Ember realized what she was doing, she shoved Boris aside, opened her mouth and, before her very eyes, emitted a torrent of silver flames that engulfed Boris. Shocked, she closed her mouth and the flames stopped. Everyone had stopped eating and were staring at her in a combination of fear and amazement. Boris, still on fire, was yelping and screaming as he writhed on the ground. Acting on some unknown instinct, Ember opened her mouth again and, instead of flames, a spewed a stream of water. The flames were quickly extinguished. Boris, all scorched and drenched, lay sputtering and panting on the ground. He glared at her with hate in his eyes “You’re a MONSTER!” he yelled at her.
Ember after realizing what she had done then turned around and ran. She didn't know what was wrong with her and she didn't want to hurt anyone else. She knew they would never accept her now. Boris managed to convince the alpha that she was a threat to the pack and had her exiled. Before she left she returned to retrieved her toy Cedric, her only possession aside from her necklace. She was more determined than ever to find out what she was and what had happened to her real parents.
She traveled for weeks on her own, practicing her powers until she was sure she had it under control. She discovered that she could breathe under water. She fashioned herself a satchel from the skins of the elk she hunted and with each passing day she felt all the more lonely. She was getting no closer to finding any of her kind.
As she was chasing caribou one day she heard a slight buzzing sound slowly growing louder with each step she took. Before she could slow down a portal opened up in front of her and she went tumbling into it with no idea of her destination....

Random facts:
-Does not like to be in crowds of people she doesn’t know without someone she knows.
-Hates fish.
-Fears snakes.
-Absolutely WILL NOT eat anything that has scales
-Does not know it yet, but she is a talented sculptor
-Cedric used to be her best friend and playmate
-Ember has a stuffed toy Cedric that she made when she first joined the pack
-She almost forgot about the real Cedric and thought that he was just a fantasy that she had created to keep her company
-She wears a silver dragon scale necklace containing a blue crystal, the Starsapphire which has special healing powers (she is never seen without it).
-The Starsapphire contains the spirit of Serenity, an ancient light dragon who has been a friend of Ember’s family for generations.
-Serenity has been guiding Ember through her trials
